Data Protection Notice (KVKK)

Birikte is an application that helps you manage shared expenses, savings, and debt targets with your family and close circle. This clarification text is provided by Birikte as data controller pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK").

Data Processed

Identity and contact information (name, surname, email, optional phone)
Household, wallet, expense, savings, debt, and challenge records
Device, push notification (FCM), and session identifiers
Mandatory records regarding payment transactions (subscription status, transaction number; card details are not stored in the app)
Advertising and analytics identifiers (Google AdMob advertising ID, Firebase / Google Analytics usage statistics)
Cookie data (ASP.NET Core session cookie for session management)
Bot protection data (IP address and browser data via Google reCAPTCHA)

Purposes

Service delivery, household membership management, subscription billing, push notifications, application statistics, ad display, bot protection, security, and legal obligations.

Legal Grounds

Data is processed under contract establishment and performance, legitimate interest, legal obligations, and where necessary, explicit consent (notifications, analytics, personalized advertising).

Transfers

Data may be transferred to domestic and international service providers:

PayTR — Android and web payment infrastructure
Apple — iOS In-App Purchases
Google Firebase / Analytics / AdMob — notifications, analytics, and advertising
Google reCAPTCHA — contact form bot protection
Local AI (Ollama) — Family Pro report summaries are generated solely on Birikte servers; never transferred to third-party LLM APIs

Card information is processed by Apple on iOS and PayTR on Android/web; Birikte does not store credit card numbers.

Local AI Summary

For Family Pro subscribers, a concise narrative summary can be generated from monthly expenses. Processing is performed using a local model hosted on Birikte servers; household financial summaries are never sent to external AI providers or used in third-party model training. When turned off, only rule-based summaries are shown.

Data Retention Periods

Your personal data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted; however, records required under legal obligations (payment, invoice, tax regulations) are retained for the statutory duration.

Cookies

On our website, only ASP.NET Core session cookies are used for session management. These cookies expire when the browser is closed. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are present.

Your Rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the following rights:

Learn whether your personal data is being processed
Request information if your personal data has been processed
Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in accordance with its purpose
Know the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred domestically or abroad
Request rectification if your personal data is incomplete or inaccurately processed
Request deletion or destruction of your personal data within the framework of KVKK Article 7
Request notification of rectification, deletion, or destruction operations to third parties to whom data has been transferred
Object to any result to your detriment arising solely from automated processing of data
Demand compensation for damages incurred due to unlawful processing of personal data
