What is Birikte? +

Birikte is an app where families manage shared wallets and savings goals together. As expenses are logged, shared goals update in real time.

What is included in the free plan? +

2 members, 3 wallets, 1 active challenge, 3 tracked subscriptions, and shared shopping list (5 conversions to expenses/month). Family Pro unlocks unlimited members, wallets, challenges, unlimited subscriptions with billing reminders, unlimited shopping-to-expense conversions, AI report summary (BETA), AI Expense (BETA), and an ad-free experience.

How do challenges work? +

For example, set a goal like 'Keep dining out under $100 this month.' Each expense updates shared progress; keep within budget to earn badges.

Is my data safe? +

Yes. Family data is strictly isolated, privacy notices are embedded, and payment card details are never stored on our servers.

What are the AI features? +

Family Pro generates a concise AI summary (BETA) for monthly reports. AI Expense (BETA) converts your written text into an expense draft; records are saved only with your approval. Processing is self-hosted on Birikte servers without third-party LLM APIs. Generated texts do not constitute financial advice.

How does subscription tracking work? Do I need to connect a bank account? +

No, no bank account or card credentials are ever required. Simply add your recurring services like Netflix, Spotify, gym, or bills with a tap, set the billing day and amount. The app sends you local notifications (3 days and 1 day prior) before the payment date.

Do other family members pay when I buy a Family Pro subscription? +

No. Subscriptions in Birikte are per-household, not per person. Only one household member needs to subscribe; all members joining with the invite code or QR enjoy unlimited wallets, challenges, and subscription tracking without extra charges.

How do I invite my family or partner to the app? +

Tap 'Invite New Member' under the Profile or Wallets tab to share your 6-digit invite code or QR code via WhatsApp, SMS, or any messenger. When your partner enters the code, they instantly connect to your shared household.

Can I cancel my Family Pro membership anytime? +

Yes, there are no contracts or cancellation fees. iOS users can cancel anytime via Apple ID / App Store Subscriptions, while web and Android users can cancel with one click in profile settings. You keep Pro benefits until the end of your billing cycle.

How does the shared shopping list work? +

You can manage your groceries and household needs in real time with household members on a single shared list. When you check off items and tap 'Complete Shopping', your cart is instantly converted into an expense and logged to your wallet. The free plan offers 5 conversions per month, while Family Pro members enjoy unlimited conversions.
